THANKS,JORGY IT IS A GREAT LOOKING GUN.I HAD ONE I BOUGHT IN THE MID 70'S,I STILL KICK MYSELF FOR GETTING RID OF IT!THAT ONE WAS IN MINT COND. ALSO WHEN I SOLD IT.I TOOK A COUPLE OF NICE DEER UP IN MAINE WITH IT.I STOPPED GOING TO MAINE SO THAT'S WHY I SOLD IT.

The "C" in the "CS" is the style of rifle, in this case it will resemble a carbine. The "S" stands for the Cross Bolt Safety. All lever action Marlins had the "S" designation added to the Model number after the cross bolt safety was added in 1984. (i.e. the Model 39-A became the Model 39-AS)
