True11b;

Your rifle is a 2nd variation Marlin Model 1891, shipped from the factory in New Haven, Ct. in late 1892.
The Model 1891 in .32 Colt caliber could handle the short, long and long rifle size cartridges, interchangably without adjustment to the gun. The .32 Colt caliber Model 1891's could also shoot either rim fire or center fire cartridges, simply by changing the firing pin.
The 2nd variation Model 1891 was made from 1892 to 1895 when it was replaced by the Model 1892. The 2nd variation Model 1891 was also made in .22 caliber. It is estimated that about 12,000 of the 2nd variation Model 1891 was manufactured during the production run. Records do not distinguish between the 1st variation and the 2nd variation Model 1891, so there is really no way of knowing exactly when one variation ended and the next began.
I hope this helps.

If it's gotten too hot, it might be unrestorable. It will surely be annealed from the fire, which might make it unsafe to shoot after restoration.
