LTC William Brophy owned statues

Hello all,
I wanted to share with the group a recent acquisition I made. I was the winning bidder on two pieces of art. Between the two of them I don't think there is a ton of monetary value. However, the Provenance behind them does carry a pretty interesting story. They are Bristol Pewter statues that stand about 6 inches tall. One is of a kneeling George Washington with his hands folded in prayer, at Valley Forge. The other is the famous rendering by Frederic Remington, that Marlin adopted as their trademark. Commonly known as "Danger Ahead". A Danger Ahead sculpture sold on eBay a few years back for $465.00.
The significance of these two items is that they both came from the writing desk of LTC William S. Brophy. Known to most of us as the author of the MARLIN FIREARMS: A HISTORY OF THE GUNS AND THE COMPANY THAT MADE THEM book. Accompanied by these two statues is a signed and dated letter from his daughter, stating that these were on his desk at the time of his death. LTC Brophy was notably a US Army Veteran that served in three major conflicts. He was in WWII, Korea, and the Viet Nam war. He passed on Feb 20, 1991. He is laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery, section 71, site #1007. I plan on proudly displaying these, along with the letter, for the remainder of my life. Hopefully, someday, someone else will find them as interesting as me.
