Low brass shells

Post by JWR4 »

I have a Marlin M 1898 shotgun and everywhere I read about, it mentions to use only low pressure shells. How can I determine if shells are low pressure? It doesn't mention on the box if the shells are low pressure. At one gun shop one of the men who works there said low brass shells are low pressure, but I have read this is not true. Which is correct?

I would stick with 1 oz. 12 gauge 2 3/4" trap loads. They are never really high pressure as they're designed to just break clay pigeons and not beat up the shooter. I've used a lot of Winchester AA Trap loads in old guns. They're a low base shell, but also not high pressure.
