Manufacture Date: 300 Savage Model # 716803

Looking to confirm if my internet search gave me the correct info that this model # 716803 was manufactured in 1953.
Also, is this rifle also known as Savage 99 ?? Its not marked anywhere as a 99.
It's one of three rifles my father owned, and it has been stored away for the past 24 years after he passed.
