1905 Marlin Model '94/Winchester .25-20

Post by utbrowningman »

I have a 1905 Marlin Model '94 .25-20 with a Winchester barrel - I call it a Mar-Chester. Looking for a source to find the rear site which is drilled and tapped on the top of the receiver. Don't know if the original Marlin barrel had a barrel mounted rear site and the existing holes on the top of the receiver were added later. It used to be topped with a Weaver 4x scope and side plate but by BIL lost those :cry:

Utbrowningman;

The holes in the top of the receiver are factory original and are for the Marlin-Hepburn receiver sight. Most Marlin barrels had a rear sight on the barrel.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.

Slim chance to find an original Hepburn from what I understand. Skinner does make the "Montana" sight which is what I will purchase.
