Just picked up a pretty clean 1894 in 25-20 serial number is 218829. What year would it have been produced?
Thanks in Advance.

Regnier can tell you for sure, but should be around 1901.

Kansasplowboy;

Your Marlin Model 1894 was shipped from the factory in New Haven, Ct. in mid-1901 with a 24 inch octagon barrel in .32-20 caliber.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Gunrunner,

Very interesting that it was sent from the factory as a 32-20. It is now a 24” octagon 25-20 with no visible signs that it had ever been re-barreled. If only it could tell it’s own story! It shoots very well and is a hoot to shoot! I’ve killed several tin cans and even a bowling pin or two with it. Thanks for your input and speedy reply.

Kansasplowboy;

Sorry about that! I apparently looked at the wrong line in the records when looking at the caliber. Your gun was indeed a .25-20 caliber gun with a 24 inch octagon barre. It did ship in mid-1901.

Gunrunner,

Thanks for the correction. Nice to know that it is still in the original configuration as shipped. Thanks again for your input.

Can you tell me about the barrel that was originally on my Model '94 314XXX? 1905? It now wears a Winchester half octagon barrel.
