I have a 39A that the Marlin factory had made for Snow W. Smart's' 75th birthday and Robert Kane did all the engraving and gold on this gun. I was wondering if Mr. Kane had any records available for his work. I am aware he left us several years ago but thought maybe someone had them.
For collectors that didn't know Snow W. Smart was a director and Vice-President of Marlin for more than 40 years.

Re: Robert Kane
I would suggest you contact the Engraver's Guild of America. Their secretary used to be Bob Evans, and he had a lot of info. But Bob is 96 now and retired, so I don't know who is currently secretary. But a message at their web site may get so answers.
