Refurbishing a Model 81

I just bought an old Model 81 and its in pretty good condition. I still plan to have a Gunsmith look it over before I fire it. My question is, will it destroy the guns value if I completely refurbish it? I really dont have any plans to sell it or anything like that. Im not a collector, I just wanted the rifle because I had one as a young man. Id like to see it looking brand new rather than old and scarred up, like me. Thanks !!

It’s worth is probably about 150 tops and not much collector value involved in original condition so have at it make it look better,it will still be worth about 150
