Marlin 39A Magazine Tube Removal
I am trying to remove the magazine tube (outer tube) from my Model 39A, manufactured in 1947. It appears the magazine tube has to be removed in order to remove the forend wood. I am having a problem trying to figure out how to remove the forend wood so I can refinish the wood. Can anyone assist me with instructions on how to get the magazine tube and forend wood off the rifle?

Re: Marlin 39A Magazine Tube Removal
You have to drift out the mag tube pin on the front first. Then the tube can be slid off, and forearm cap screws removed to allow the cap to slide forward also. Here's a good site covering complete disassembly to base pieces.
