Looking for a little info on my rifle:It says MARLIN. MODEL '94. on the tang behind the hammer Has a serial# of 306XXX on the bottom of the reciever And behind the (I guess you would call it S-shaped) steel butt plate. Round barrel, I believe it is a .44-40 WCF but it is worn off of the barrel. Top of the barrel says: Marlin Fire Arms Co. New Haven Ct. U.S.A. and it is very worn but it looks like it says PAT'D OCT 11 1897 April 2 1889 AUG 1 1993
Any help I could recieve as far as dating this rifle and any info you might share would be appreciated.

Jburles01;
A Marlin lever action rifle with a serial number in the 306,000 range would have been shipped approximately 1904. With information provided this is about all that can be determined at this time.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
