The model 38 was made from 1921 to 1930. Yours is numbered toward the end of the known D series & might be one of the later examples.

I'm not sure of the value. I've not seen one offered for sale for quite some time and know nothing of the condition in any case. SW

Value varies, a gray ratty one is probably worth $150-$175 and a real sharp 98% gun with excellent to mint bore is worth $500 or so. An average one is usually in the $300 range when I see one. I sold one a while back for about $375 that was pretty nice.
