I think I have an early Marlin Camp 9 Carbine. Normal Marlin manufacture date look-ups I have found are no help.
It has a six digit serial number 0090XX, blued w/brass bead front sight w/hood, arrow on bolt handle, uncheckered Birch stock, and a blued 12rd magazine.
Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

John.41;
Interesting, most books say the Camp 9 was discontinued in 1999, but your serial number indicates it was made in 2000. Maybe a left over that numbered for 2000 and shipped out. Marlin was not one to waste good gun material. There have been many discrepancies over the years with Marlin serial numbers, so nothing surprises me.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

I don't think that "subtract the first 2 digits from 2000" applies to the Camp Carbines. This 6 digit one has features of the first gen production models.
Thanks for posting though.

Re: Wanted, Camp 9 birthyear.
Just a thought. Is it possible after discontinuing manufacture of parts in 1999, they looked at their inventory and assembled what they could from available parts inventory and identified them as 2000. It would also explain unusual parts in a rifle.

When did they start to supply the checkered (stippled) stock on the Camp9?
