What year did front sight hoods first appear on Marlin .22 lever guns?

The front sight hood was added at the same time as the blued receiver on the 39a, in 1945. This is known as the 3rd. variation of the model 39a. This was also the first year that the front sight was a ramped style, rather than a dovetailed style sight.

Marbles rear sight

Post by jackman »

Thanks. If the standard rear sight on a '53 39A was replaced with a marbles rear sight, how would the value of an otherwise original gun be affected? Thanks. What is a marbles rear sight?
