model 120 shotgun misfire

Several years ago my father gave me a model 120 shotgun. About 8 years ago it seemed to develop a misfire on the first and 3rd shot. The indent seemed a bit of center so i suspected the firing pin was bad. I put it up and haven't used it since. Well recently my daughter joined the 4-H shotgun team and asked me about using it. So my question is has anyone had this problem? Should i replace the firing pin and spring or just the firing pin?
