I have a marlin model 93 in 32 special. I have not been able to find a manufature date for it. It has on the barrel. The Marlin Firearm Corporation New Haven Conn. U S A Patented Special Smokeless Steel with 32 Special near the Reciever on the barrel. top of reciever is Marlin safety on upper tang is a star and Model 93 serial number is under the lever and has no letters only 9474 Can anyone tell me a approximate year.

Does it have a bullseye in the bottom of the buttstock?
It's a chancey job and it makes a man watchfull....and a little lonely.

Sorry its a straight stock, with a metal cresent type butt plate. The wood finish looks like a shelac

I would say your rifle was made sometime around the 1930-1931 era. During the depression years Marlin dropped both the bullseye and the star. Yours still has the star and others in your serial number range have the bullseye.
It's a chancey job and it makes a man watchfull....and a little lonely.
