Another 39A Age Question

Bought a 39a a few years back for about $125 for gun bag and 500rds. Just curious if someone could help me date it. The serial number is N 9699 and the half cock is its safty. Do I enjoy teaching my 5yo to shoot or get it refurbished?

The letter N should date to 1956.Enjoy shooting your rifle and teaching your 5yo.

thanks and i ill enjoy teaching my boy. He already loves his daisy and will be taking him to the range soon.
