I have a Marlin 39a that was handed down. Under the leaver it says (weird letter kinda looks like M because the top of the letter has 2 points like a M) several spaces and 2145.
Can you tell me when this was made.

1955. Not unusual for the rounded surface of the tangs to not get a good imprint when stamped.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
