I am new to the site and happy to be a board member.
I have a Marlin Mod 60, Single Barrel 12 Gauge Shot Gun, that was built by the "Marlin Firearms Corporation" New Haven Conn.
The gun has been in the family since the early 1900's to the 40's. Not exactly certain.
So far I have not had much luck finding out information about this old gun.
Please let me know how best to research this gun or any information.
Thanks,
Marlin Mod 60 Single Barrel 12 gauge shot gun

Jollyfolly;
The quickest way to research your Marlin Model 60, single barrel shotgun is to find a copy of William s. Brophy's book, Marlin Firearms, A History of the Guns and the Company that made them.
In the mean time, the Model 60 was actually a product of the Hopkins & Allen Firearms Company prior to WW I. Marlin acquired the H&A Company during WW I, and after the war, The Marlin Firearms Corporation manufactured a few of the gun models that H&A had produced before the war. The H&A version was called the Model 712. Marlin sold the Model 60 for $15.00.
Good luck with your research.....

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
