marlin 30 a
picke one up at a pawn shop, looks brand new unifred, not a scratch anywhere. it has no safety. has a egg shaped circle on back left of bbl in front of receiver,with letters lm or im in it. mag tube goes out to the end of the bbl. holds maybe 6 rounds 16107046 is the ser number. bought this for 150. how old is this rifle, did i get a good deal?

Your Marlin Model 30A with a serial number in the range given was manufactured in 1984. Apparently, your gun was a very late gun as the book shows the Model 30A was made from 1973 to 1983. But your serial number says otherwise.
$150.00 is a very good price. The Model 30A is still the same gun as the Model 336, the only difference being the wood used for the stock. The Model 30A will have a walnut stained hardwood (usually birch) whereas the Model 336 will have walnut stocks.
