What year

Post by Loubecker »

I have a marlin lever action 30-30. The barrel only shows the manufacture info and near the receiver it’s stamped 30-30. On the stock portion under the lever it is stamped 2644. I’m looking for any info I can find. This gun was given to me by my late father and the story was it was handed down from my great grandfather. This will be my first born’s gun when my time is up and I would like to complete the tale of this rifle before that happens.

Guessing your rifle has a tang sight mounted on the top tang behind the hammer? If it does, remove the two screws and it will likely read "Model '93" on the top tang. Also post the complete manufacturer's info on the barrel, and we can narrow down when it was made.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
