Spied one of these at a pawn shop. 30/30 over 12 gauge.
They want $2700!!! Well are they worth it? It looks to be in very good condition. Double triggers. Just nice.
Now I know the Savage co. made 30/30 over 12 gauge but... no where near as nice as this gun.
Thanks!

Deaf Smith;
You must be a Texan! I had to check the old Marlin catalogs to try and get you an answer to your question. The Model 90 Combination guns are listed in only one year of Marlin catalogs. That was the 1940 catalog, and nowhere is a .30-30 combination gun listed. All the combination guns listed in the catalogs were made over a .410 gauge shotgun barrel. Brophy does mention that "a very few .30-30 20 gauge guns were experimented with, but production was never started."
So, this would make a .30-30 over a 12 gauge barrel gun very rare indeed. Since Brophy does not mention the 12 gauge barrel gun, it may be even more rare than any other Model 90 shotgun out there.
Is it worth the $2,700.00 asking price? Maybe to the right person it is, and maybe even more.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Re: Marlin 90 O/U
Well it turns out it was in 30/30 and 20 gauge!
Yes I bought it. I paid $2,700 flat. Tax inc.
Oiled it up and hopefully tomorrow I shoot it. I have lots of 20 gauge ammo and some 30/30.
I just wonder.. which trigger fires the 30/30?

Deaf Smith;
If all holds true, the 1940 Marlin catalog states that the front trigger fires the bottom barrel. That should hold true for your combination gun.
Great find, that combination gun is a rare find, indeed. I think you did well.

Deaf Smith, out of curiosity, do you still own the model 90 "30-30/20?
