Hi All,
I'm new to the firum but was hoping someone might be able to help. I recentl acquired a Marlin Model 60 SS with a serial # of MN 48863B. I have searched/googled and while there appears to be a wealth of information on older Model 60 Marlins, I have yet to see any post that references the "MN" prefix. While I understand that few, if any records were turned over to Ruger when it acquired Marlin, I was hoping someone might klnwo something about this serial # and perhaps the date of manufacture. If I had to guess, I'd think it was made i the lsat twenty years but would like a bit of certainty.
Thank you in advance.

Hello, I have the same situation. Only thing I can add is the barrel is stamped as made in Huntsville Alabama. I contacted Ruger and they claim they got very little historical information from Marlin. Hope someone out there has more information. Got no complaints about the rifle. Great shooter!
