Early Marlin 39 Age

Post by rnmic2 »

Hi,

I just purchased what looks like a very nice early Marlin 39 and am trying to find its birth date. The serial number is 4505, and there is no prefix. Any help is appreciated! I just cleaned and oiled it and am looking forward to trying some low-power rounds in it tomorrow.

Rnmic2;

A Marlin Model 39 with a serial number in the range give is an early production gun. Most likely a late 1921 or early to mid 1922.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.
