Post by BCP69 »

hi everybody
I am a member of a FRENCH shooting club and I have a MARLIN rifle model 1895 (1897) in caliber 45.90 , 22-inch octagonal gun.

I would like to know more information about this rifle:
how many rifle of this model manufactured ?
approximate value of this model?

thank you all for your answers

We would need pictures, serial number, and more information to guess what your gun's value is.
Since the 1895 Marlins were made before and after records ceased, there's no info for a large number of them made after 1906. So hard to say how many were made. Estimates are maybe 10,000 total, but we don't see many here either.
The 22" barrel may be an issue, as it could be factory, but most with short barrels are either carbine configurations, or cut down rifle barrels. A picture will help determine that.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
