Marlin "Safety" Circa 1893

I have an old lever action octagonal barrel Marlin "Safety" rifle. Curious to know what it is worth. Not great condition.

Value will depend upon which model Marlin rifle you have. Look at the upper tang, behind the hammer for the model marking. If there is not model marking, then post serial number so it can be checked in the factory records to see what model you have.

thanks gunrunner. no model # - The serial # is 87736. I believe it was manufactured in 1893. Caliber I believe is 32/20, it is marked with 32W. Thanks for your help!

Your Marlin rifle is a Model 1889 in .32-20 caliber and left the factory with a 24 inch octagon barrel in early 1893.
Your description of "Not great condition" really does not help with a valuation. Condition of 50% or less is usually worth less than $1,000.00 and in lesser condition, even less value.

Thank you. The condition is actually pretty good, the stock is a bit scratched up but for such an old rifle its actually in good shape.
