The rifle is marked Ranger 43. It's in a walnut stock with a nifty brass Sears grip cap.
I need or would like to replace the missing parts striker mounted rear sight with the original knob.
This is a cock on opening bolt and a single shot action.
I have been all over the web looking for answers and have found only crickets, can any one help?
Ken
Apparently, I am too new to post a picture?

The Sears 43 is a Marlin 81.
If you go to Numrich Gun Parts online site they list guns by the store brand, and in parenthesis it tells you the original maker.

Pressman;
The Model 81 has a tubular feed magazine, not a single shot. The Marlins that are single shot are the Model 100 and 100S or Tom Mix Special and the Model 101. In 1959, there was the Model 101 Crown Prince, too. A Ranger Model 34 is a single shot, based on the Marlin Model 65.
Your Ranger Model 43 may have a mis-marked barrel, which did tend to happen at Marlin once in a while. Usually during a model change over from marking one model barrel marking to the next model barrel marking operation.

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
