Model 88 Single-shot aka sliding block

Have (as part of a recent acquisition of a lot from an estate) a "Model 88-22 22LR only - single shot

Can't seem to find any info on it, everthing re the Model 88 is for the semi-auto

It's a takedown, bbl is 23 1/2 SN M355

Thoughts/ideas ??

Model 88 semiauto barrel fitted to some kind of single shot receiver. Not a Marlin 88.

Many thanks - I was afraid it might be something like that - looks good and shoots well so may just keep it
