Duvidas Gerais mod94 - Brazil

Post by emil_lang_br »

Guys, sorry for some mistakes, I'm from Brazil and I'm using a translator.

Sorry also for being repetitive. However, I have some doubts that I can't solve.

When changing the changed serial model. And the doubts are as follows:

Only (69, 70, 71 and 72) or the final correspondence to the year of manufacture?

Following the other pattern or the year of manufacture would this be (100-43) = 1958?

How to identify the model exactly?

The model that is almost the same as (Model 1894C - Pipes aligned and shorter)

Were these weapons produced for the USA?

Weapon data

Inscriptions at the top of the barrel: Marlin Firearms Co. NEW - HAVEN. CT. USA OUT. 11.1887, APRIL. 2.1889. AUGUST 1.1893. -
Inscriptions at the top of the stock: Marlin Mod.94

Manufacturing / Serial number: 430085

Ammunition: .44W CBC

Please give us the complete serial number, and list any and all markings ( on top of the barrel ) and behind the hammer on the upper tang.
It would appear that you have an earlier Model 94, and the method of subtracting the first two digits of the serial number from 100 will not apply to those rifles.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Hello. I think the images will be easier. - (includes links to not lose image quality.)

I didn't find any other markings besides those registered.

despite its not-so-good appearance, it still works perfectly and with good precision.

This weapon has some historical value, and what would be its commercial value?.

Thank you for the photographs. This will tell us exactly what you have, which is a short barrel Marlin Model '94 Saddle Ring Carbine ( missing the staple and ring ), and with a serial number in the 430,000 range, it was made about mid to late 1912 or early 1913. It appears to have a 15 inch barrel, which is shorter than the standard carbine that had a 20 inch barrel.
The Model '94 carbine was made in 4 calibers, .25-20, .32-20, .38-40 and .44-40.
The overall condition of your carbine is rather rough, bringing the collector value way down. In it's present condition, maybe $500.00 to $700.00 if you found someone that wanted a short barrel carbine with a "little character".
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

Thank you very much for the informations. I've been wanting to know more about this weapon for a long time.

The commercial value was just a curiosity.

My real intention was to know the date of manufacture.

Despite the general conditions, he did not intend to sell. It was a gift from my father.

Again I appreciate your attention. Very Thanks and Goodbye.
