I need help trying to find out what model this shotgun is
I recently came by this old marlin 12g pump action with no exposed hammer. On the barrel it’s says marlin firearms co new haven conn USA pat’s May 12 1896 June 2 1896 mar 29 1904 aug 7 1906 mar 24 1908 may 19 1908 nov 23 1909 dec 21 1909. It has a sn of 2744. The only other marking on it is the the 12ga stamp. It’s a wood straight stock and wood pump with grooves in it.

From your description, it sounds like you have a Model 28 "Trap Special". The Model 28 was made from 1913 to 1923. It was a less expensive version of the Model 28 "Trap Gun" that came standard with a few more features.
