I have an 1894 Cowboy in 44-40 that was manufactured in 1997 if I understand the numbering system correctly (S# 03023xxx). I have been told that the rifle has a .429 bore and that I can use any 44 cal. bullet on the market. I use the rifle for cowboy action shooting and to date have only used .428 cast bullets. The rifle shoots these bullets fine but if possible I would like to load it with some jacketed .429 bullets and use it for hunting.
Thanks
