Old 30/30 Winchester Model Marlins

Post by Graywolf »

I am trying to find a very old Lever action side eject Winchester Model Marlin The One My Husband had was handed down from his grand Father to His father to Him and while His oldest brother barrowed it it was stolen. It stood 64 inches tall side eject with the Hex barrel style It held 9 rounds in the Tube mag But while on a Story about Guns I was told it does not exsite and i am trying to find the make year and Model of it. Can you help Me? I would like to buy one to replace My Husbands Rifle.

I'd guess it would have likely been a Marlin Model 1893 or '93 in .30-30 Winchester. But the 64" overall length is not correct. Marlin made no models that long, and that length would be wrong for almost any cartridge gun built, regardless of maker.
Holding 9 rounds tells me it likely was the standard 26" barreled model. Here's a picture of my 1893 Marlin with 26" barrel. He can take a look and see if it matches what he recalls:
