1892 32 Long Colt accuracy
Anyone have experience with the accuracy of "modern" .32 Long Colt (.299 diameter bullet, internal lube) in an 1892 Marlin? Read somewhere that the bullets are hollow base, meant to expand when fired; but weren't very accurate. The original .32 Long Colt used .313 diameter bullets with external lube. Want to use my 1892 in a CAS match, but rimfire isn't allowed. Not sure the "modern" round nosed ammo is either. Maybe what I need is a source for .313 RNFP lead bullets or molds? Thanks!

I've used the later ammo in my 1891 and 1892 Marlin .32's, and it shoots great! As for molds and dies, there's a fair number of sources for dies. NEI makes a mold for heeled bullets in whatever diameter you like, depending on what your bore slugs to. RCBS, C&H 4D, and Redding make dies, and maybe others too.
I've been shooting and reloading for the 4 that I own for many years, and their one of the most accurate Marlin lever actins I own.
