Marlin 1892 nickel plated
I have a marlin 1892. Serial number shows it was made around 1897. It has Nickel plating o. The end cap, lever, butt plate and in the right side of the receiver. My question is, was this a factory option at that period, or has someone did this at a later time?

Re: Marlin 1892 nickel plated
Have to see pictures to be sure. But it doesn't sound like any combination I've seen on nickeled early Marlin rifles.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
