Restore or not?

Post by .22-5-40 »

Hello, Years ago..by golly it's been 30..man where do the years go? I purchased a Marlin 92' gun is in fine condition..checkered pistol grip, nice figure in wood. metal starting to turn. I had always been thinking of having it re-lined & re-cased by Turnbull. The bore is dark, but rifling is pretty good..I used to use it squirrel hunting & didn't do too bad. Now I haven't handled this gun in ages..got to lokking at it, and now I don't think I want to touch it. Might even take it over to one of them cowboy side matches. What do you guys think..Am I getting smarter in my old age?

The simple answer is Yes! If you had refinished this Model '92, there were have been one less fine, old antique firearm in the world. Original is the way to go unless the piece is a total disaster beyond reclaimation.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.

No finish is better than re-finished unless it has been modified or just plan abused.
