44-40 Model 94

Post by lapierre » Fri Feb 20, 2009 10:05 pm

Hi!

My Uncle has a Marlin Model 94 44-40 serial number D7950. Can anyone tell me whether it is a smokeless or black powder gun? If it is a blackpowder what type of alternative ammunition can we use?

Thanks
Crystal

With that late of an s/n it should be able to handle smokeless just fine. I'd stick to some of the milder cowboy actions loads, though.
