Model 1894. Marlin Safety. 44-40

Post by Bill Whitman »

I have a the above gun serial number 186252. The patent dates are MARLIN FIRE ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CT. USA----OCT. 11, 1887; APRIL 2, 1889; AUG. 11, 1893.

IT IS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE WITH A ROUND BARREL AND 10 SHOT MAGAZINE WITH A PLAIN WALNUT STOCK AND SADDLE RING.

Can anyone shed some light on its value and vintage??

Can't give you a value as I don't guess at firearm values without great pictures.
But date should be 1982. First two digits subtracted from 2000 gives the date.

Marlinman93 I think you may have misread the serial number, 186252. It was born in 1899.
Bill Whitman if you would like to send me photos by e mail I would gladly post for you, that is if you can't figure out how to post photos to this site.
