Marlin 1894 S "Marlin Limited" ?

Post by JDyer »

I just bought a used but in 100% condition Marlin 1894S 44 Mag with 16 1/2" barrel and checkered stock. The barrel is marked "Marlin Limited." I can't find any information about this rifle, the year manufactured, or what "Limited" means, or the value. Any expert help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Marlin 1894 S Limited

Post by Duesouth »

The 1894 S Limited was made only in 1996. There were approximately 1,500 of these guns made. It is marked Limited because of the limited production. My 24th. edition blue book list it at $400.00 to $450.00. The other 1894 S has a 20" barrel and that's the only difference except for Limited roll stamped on the barrel. The value of your gun is slightly higher than the 20" version.
