Ranger Replacement Barrels for Marlin Model 90's

Post by BarkeyVA »

The following is being offered on GunsAmerica:

Marlin Model 90 20ga. barrels; made for Sears and marked J.C. Higgins Model 103.370; 28-inch IC/IC; refinished with a matte finish and unused since; come with extractor; bright bores; excellent condition. Does anyone know if this barrel assembly will fit a 20 ga. Marlin Model 90, serial no. L214 made in 1954?

How much "fitting" do you think would be required for a Ranger or J.C. Higgins barrel to fit a Marlin Model 90? Do both the barrels and receiver generally require "tweeking"?

I have a 20 ga M90, 28 in. barrels choked F/M, Serial No. L 214, with a lever release forearm. The following link shows 28" barrels choked IC/IC that accommodates a lever-release forearm that I think would be great for skeet and quail if it can be made to fit my M90.
