Model 90, 410 ga. Question

Post by BarkeyVA »

I just got a Marlin Model 90, 410 ga., serial number 1907 (all numbers match). It has a web between the barrels. The checkering pattern on the stock is the same as that shown in an undated Marlin Model 90 brochure, but it is different than the checkering pattern on my 4 other Marlin Model 90's that were made between 1947 and 1954. Anyone have an idea when my 410 ga. might have been made?

Most of the .410's I have seen were very early pre-war guns. Especially if there is engraving of animals on the receiver.

I showed the gun to an individual who has over 30 Model 90's, including several in .410 ga. As I recall, he indicated that all parts for M90DT .410's were made prior to WWII, although some guns may have been assembled after the war. He thinks my gun was made in 1939 or 1940.
