Model 90

Post by mg4643 »

Hi,
I am new to the association and wanted to know if there is a source to find the age of a Model 90 16 gauge I inherited from my father. Serail # 7335

Thanks

A Model 90 without a letter prefix in the serial number was made between 1937 and 1941. However, there are no records remaining to know for sure what year it was made. Some Model 90's made between 1939 and 1941 had a bird dog scene on the frame.

One source of information is a book by Brophy, Marlin Firearms, a History of the Guns and the Company That Made Them, published in 1989 by Stackpole Books. There are 8 pages devoted to the Model 90. There are a lot of Marlin Model 90 fans on the www.16ga.com web site.
