model 55 12 bolt removal

Post by craig9988 »

Greetings everyone; I just joined. I have a model 55 goose gun. No serial number, 2 round mag. and sling swivels. It passed to me after my dad died. My mom won it in a bingo game. I have read the posts on the 55. I need to know how to remove the bolt for cleaning and a value on it. It is in great shape. The blueing and stock finish is orignal, some minor nicks from hunting( about 4 of them). Dad added an adjustable peep sight on the rear. Mag. orginal and it kicks like an angry mule. I do not intend to sell it. I will pass it on to by boys.Thanks in advance for any help.

Craig9988;

I do not own a Model 55, but gererally to remove a bolt from a bolt action firearm, you simply hold back on the trigger while sliding the bolt backward and out of the receiver. Then hold the trigger back and insert the bolt to put it back in.
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
