Many years ago I had a chance to buy a Marlin over/under in 12ga. Until then I had never known that Marling made one. It had USN branded into the stock in about 1 inch letters. This gun was still in cosmoline and I coulda had it for 100 dollars but didn't have the money (story of my life at times, lol, common ailment). On this forum I see it must have been a model 90. I asked about the branding and the old gunsmith that had it told me they were used by the Navy to train anti-aircraft gunners by shooting skeet and contracted Marlin to make them for them and brand then thusly.
Anyone else seen one of these realy nice guns with such a brand?

Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
