recommendations for gunsmith

Post by robert s »

I'd like to restore my Model 16 Grade C. Does anyone have a gunsmith they would recommend? I have no problem with mailing my gun out of state to a qualified gunsmith.

Robert S;

Turnbull Restorations is about the best, but also quite expensive. Probably cost more to restore than it would be worth in the end. But, restored guns seem to be selling quite well at the auction houses recently with no qualms from buyers........
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!

The growing federal deficit = generational slavery to the national debt.

If the world was perfect.......it wouldn't be.

Thanks for your reply! I have had a number of sxs guns restored so i'm familiar with the restoration process. Turnbull is good, but their are better gunsmiths out there for less money, in my opinion. I has hoping to find a gunsmith already familiar with restoring Marlin shotguns. Like you said, the restoration process will exceed the value of the gun itself so many gunsmiths aren't familiar with Marlin shotguns.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
