17-S action release

Post by Scattergun »

When I dry fired my 17-S the action did not release and had to be opened with the thumb release on the right side of the reciever. Does it take a live shell to get it to release? Other pumps I have release action when fired dry or live. Thanks in advance.

Scattergun;

Then your other guns are not right. The gun must be fired to release the action without pushing the "hang fire safety release" button. That is what it is for. If a shell does not go off, then you have to stop and think about pushing the button in order to open the action on a shell that has not gone off. When things are woring correctly, the recoil of the fired round sets the "hang fire safety" off and the action will open without pushing the button.
I hope this helps.

P.S. Get your other guns checked!!!
Due to the increasing cost of ammunition, there will be no warning shot!
