.32 long

Post by b4any »

Ok, I built a firing pin and shot the rifle. Ouch, split the case. So my question is, can I punch the chamber out 32/20 or 38/40? Any other recomenditions?
Thanks

Not a good idea to rechamber or rebore to either caliber. You might consider reling it to .32 S&W Long, but not much more. The #2 cast action isn't a good candidate for any cartridge that can attain the pressures of a .32-20 or .38-40.
Marlin lever actions 1870's-WWI, Ballards, and single shot rifles!
