Rebuilt Ballard

I have a Ballard that has been rebuilt by PEERLESS GUN COMPANY CLEVELAND OHIO . It is now a 22 with a heavy target barrel , it is self cocking . It looks like quality work. Does anyone know anything about this company? I think this is a product of the 40'S but may be wrong Thanks
