MM 93 looked in again to see if any of the old posts came back. Sorry to see they have not. HMMMM.

Message Pruning

Post by webmaster »

The message board is set to self prune topics that have not been used for over three months. I figured that way it keeps the clutter down. Let me know what you think about this.

Well, I'm not too crazy about the idea myself. Since there aren't a lot of Ballard threads, it was nice to have some to return to for reference.

Are there topics here that should be purned and others that should not be? Please let me know. I would be happy to change the settings. :D

I'd like to see the Ballard topics stay, based on the low number of posts made, I think they wouldn't take up much space.
Sure appreciate your willingness to help!
Thanks!

I have turned the auto pruning off for the Ballards topic area. Glad to help out. I have most of the areas set to delete topics not replied to in 90 days. Does this sound reasonable?

Generally speaking, I believe it is. Something that might be of value would be a 'reference information' forum that would be more or less permanent.

Some topics that might fit in there would be things like the information necessary to guess at value. We do seem to get a lot of questions along the line of "I have an old rifle - what is it worth?" A list of the letter prefix/dates might go over well, too.

It's something to consider, anyway. SW

I like the idea of a refererence topic. I will give this thread another week, then make a few changes. That will give others a chance to make suggestions.
