Well, with Ruger having obtained Marlin, as a Ruger collector, looks like I will also be keeping tabs on all new Ruger made Marlins.
A few months ago, Ruger's C.E.O. stated there would be some serial number anomaly's among the earliest produced 1895's so I guess we will be looking to see what those are. At this moment I haven't indentified any of those, and all new Ruger made 1895SBL's look identical as far as I can tell.
I believe the earliest serial number shipped so far is RM0001198, although there is a serial number closeup of RM0001175 at Ruger's Marlin site.
