Marlin39a

Post by Uteowens »

Hello
I’m new to the group . I recently purchased a marlin 39a . I’m trying to determine the age of the gun . There are letters jm stamped on the left side of the barrel. Also on the bottom side under the lever is the letter p followed 22840 . Could anyone tell about this ? Thanks

P prefix is 1957.

Welcome to the forum.

I think if you search “Marlin serial numbers” and then “Marlin guns JM mark” you should find a bunch of info on your gun.

If you don’t have much luck, post back here and someone will help, as “I know nothing”.

Oh, and look here, I forgot about this excellent posting. Thanks to the poster.
